ROLE
This project was really fun because I get to re-design Sister Cities of Los Angeles logo along with establishing a new brand identity for them. As the lead designer for this project, I get to work along with my art director to make sure that Sister Cities' brand is well represented internationally.

LOGO RE-DESIGN
RESEARCH / WIREFRAME / MOODBOARDS
Sister Cities wanted a completely new logo, less of an illustration and more like a mark. They also want to find a way to represent global connections in Los Angeles. After sketching multiple options based on that idea, I re-design the logo using the iconic Los Angeles city hall as the main element for the logo.

RESEARCH / SITEMAP / WIREFRAME
First step was to get organize, to do that, I need to find a way to group and categorize all the content provided by the client. Best way to do that is through a mini sitemap, this will list out where content will go and where it will live on the site. After this, it will be much easier to design a wireframe to map out how the users will navigate the site.

THE PROBLEM
Although I had a lot of creative freedom for this project, I still need to put into consideration the targeted demographic. An older audience might not have the time or be tech-savvy enough to find their ways through the site to see the information they are looking for if I design the site to be too complicated and too modern.

EXPLORATION SECTIONS
By making all the font sizes a bit bigger than normal web practice and breaking down information into bite size pieces, I managed to keep the older target audience engaged in the content. Then, in order to keep it visually informative, i paired lifestyle images with a background pattern using real live map that is relevant to the to that specific section. For example, the Culture and Education section will be pair with the map of Sister Cities of Los Angeles associated college, UCLA.

INTERACTIVE MAP
One of the feature on the site that is the most exciting for me to work on was the Sister Cities interactive map. Here you can click on any of the Sister Cities location on the world map to view more information on it in relation to the city of Los Angeles. This feature needed to be easy to use and navigate, therefore I added a flag modal as an alternative way to view the city listings.

WEBSITE DESIGN
The Sister Cities of Los Angeles site was definitely a learning experience. Not only do I have to organized all information and arrange them so they fit into place on all the pages, I also have to make sure the information presented is digestable by our target audience. It is easier if I just focus on design, but in order for this site to be functional and useful, I have to make sure all my design decisions are usercentric. The result came out to be as I would hope for, and now the site is being used by so many people from all around the world.
